My 2015 trunk show at The Loop

My annual trunk show at The Loop in Halifax, Nova Scotia was held on Saturday, May 23, 2015. We were a little unlucky with the weather as it was a cool day and there was a wicked rain/hail storm late afternoon. It was very busy at the store between noon and 3 pm and then quiet for the rest of the day. The first customer of the day brought in this lovely shawl that she knit using my Angel Select Lace in the Caribbean Waters colourway.   We...

I had a great time at my (Yvieknits Yarns) trunk show held at The Loop in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Saturday, July 12th. Thank you to everyone who attended and congratulations to the draw winners. Mimi (the owner) offered up some great prizes for this year’s draw: a swift, a shawl kit and a $25 gift certificate. One customer kindly brought in this lovely shawl that she recently knit out of 1 skein of my Cash Sock in the Caribbean Waters...

Busy September

Busy September

September was my busiest and most successful month so far. I’m slowly catching up on things, like blogging, that I let slide during those crazy weeks. Shortly after sending off my first yarn order off to The Robbins’ Nest in Brighton, Ontario (previous blog post), Francine and I were vendors at the 2nd Annual Wolfe Island Fibre Fest on Saturday, September 14th. The festival was a two day event but as this was our first year...

Robbins’ Nest in Brighton, ON

Earlier in July, I spent several days at my friend’s cottage in Prince Edward County (I visited this cottage with my friend last September and blogged about it here) with my Mom and brother. We had a lovely but busy time at the cottage partly due to my brother’s car problems. I brought most of my yarn with me on the trip because I planned to make an appointment with the owner of Robbins’ Nest in Brighton, ON as it was about a...

Trunk Show at The Loop in Halifax

Mimi, the owner of The Loop hosted a trunk show for Yvieknits Yarns at her store yesterday afternoon. I arrived at the store just before it opened in the morning and we spent the morning setting up for the show. I brought almost hundred skeins of yarn, 4 shawl kits and lots of knitted samples with me so there was lots to do. My yarn was displayed in three spots in the store. The basket on the end of the big table (picture top left) contained...

Halifax

I’m in Halifax visiting my friend B. and her family at the moment. I arrived in Halifax very late on Thursday night since my flight was more than 3 hours late. Long story. Usually when I visit, we (B. and another friend) go for a girls day trip out to the Valley (Wolfville area) which we did today. We have a set plan of stops developed over the years. The first stop is the Wolfville Farmers Market, then to Gaspereau Valley Fibres which a...
