Handmade Gifts

This year I’ve managed to finish my planned knitted gifts for my best friend and her family earlier than usual and I plan to mail these gifts off to Halifax on Monday. I don’t always manage to have them completed before Christmas. I knit socks for my best friend and her two daughters using yarn from my stash. I’ve been trying out Fish Lips Kiss Heel lately so I substituted this heel into each sock pattern. I like how it fits...

Silk Hankies, A New Colourway, and Other News

I started dyeing up silk hankies (matawa) in January and recently added them for sale to my website. Matawa are 100 % silk hankies with dozens of layers in each hankie. Each layer can be spun one at a time or can be drafted (stretched) and knitted directly. There are several silk hankies in each 1 oz (28 g) package. I have also created a few 1/2 oz (14 g) packages to enable people to give this a try with only a small investment. A few weeks...

I used the Neck Warmer pattern by Brenda Zuk with a couple of modifications. I only cast on 100 sts instead of 120 sts since I was...
